Cookzer ("we", "us") is a social network for people who cook. This page explains what information we collect when you use Cookzer — on the website, and in the Android and iOS apps, which are thin wrappers around the same website — and how it's used.
Information you give us
- Account info: your email address and password, or, if you sign in with Google or Facebook, the name, email address, and profile photo those services share with us.
- Profile info: display name, avatar, cover photo, bio, and — if you choose to fill one in — your Kitchen CV (professional background, signature dishes, open-to-work status).
- Content you post: recipes, photos, videos, captions, comments, ratings, meal plans, shopping lists, and pantry/leftover ingredients you type in.
- Messages: direct messages and group conversations you send through Cookzer's messenger.
- AI assistant conversations: messages you send to Cookzer+'s Cooking Ideas, Leftover Help, and Health & Nutritions chat features.
Information collected automatically
Basic technical information needed to run the service — such as sign-in sessions and timestamps on your activity (posts, comments, recipe saves) — so features like feeds, notifications, and "last cooked" streaks work correctly.
How we use it
- To operate core features: your feed, recipes, meal planner, messenger, profile, and notifications.
- To personalize suggestions, like pantry-aware recipe matches and Cookzer+ chat responses.
- To keep the platform safe: enforcing blocks/reports and account security.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train third-party AI models beyond generating the direct response to your own chat message.
Who we share it with
Cookzer runs on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (photos, avatars).
- Bunny.net (Bunny Stream) — hosts and streams video posts.
- Anthropic — powers the Cookzer+ AI chat features; messages you send there are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a reply.
- Vercel — hosts the website and its serverless functions.
- Google / Facebook — if you choose to sign in with either, they share your basic profile info with us as described above.
Other users see what you'd expect from a social app: your public posts, profile, and anything you post in a group you're a member of. Direct messages are only visible to their participants.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete your posts, recipes, and profile info at any time from within the app.
- You can block or report another user from their profile.
- To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.
Children's privacy
Cookzer is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
